Artist Nate Abell Releases Episode Two of Isthmus

2/2/2015

New Motion Graphic, Sci-Fi Western Epic Available Now for Free on Patreon

AUSTIN, TX (February 2nd, 2015): Artist Nate Abell, creator of the sci-fi western, Motion Graphic Isthmus, announces today the release of Isthmus episode two, “Patriarch”, which is now available for free, along with the first episode, “Last Call”, via Patreon.

Isthmus is a unique creation that combines the power of Adobe’s After Effects, with the visual language of film, into a 14-episode series of captivating, 5-minute Motion Graphics. Isthmus is the creation of artist Nate Abell, who writes, storyboards, and creates the stills for each episode, and makes them available for free via Patreon.

The Isthmus story tells of a dystopian future of an over-crowded planet with fascistic population control, in a world covered with guns, weaponized drones, and altitude. The story follows Tynae, a broken warrior, and her band, through this world ruled by mountains, storms, and greed. As she haplessly sparks a holocaustic war, a mysterious boy appears who could shift the odds against the overwhelming power of her enemies. Instead of leading her people into this final conflict, she must flee and protect this foreigner, this enigma, this child.

Nate Abell is a freelance artist in the games industry, having worked with such companies as UbiSoft and Sony Online Entertainment, among others. He lives with his wife and daughter in a travel trailer as they explore North America. When Nate isn’t working on his art or his business, he enjoys raising a glass or two, and playing Ultimate Frisbee.

Patreon is a crowdfunding site that brings supporters of the arts together with artists. Though the Isthmus episodes will always be free, monetary support via Patreon is appreciated, and supporters will gain access to concept art, storyboards and backstory as new episodes are produced.
