SHADOWS OF ESTEREN LAUNCHES ADELIANE, A TRANSMEDIA ALBUM AND CONCERT TOUR BASED ON THE AWARD-WINNING ROLEPLAYING GAME

5/24/2017

PARIS, FRANCE (May 24, 2017) – Agate RPG, publishers of the acclaimed Shadows of Esteren Roleplaying Game, announces today the successful funding of the Adeliane: Album & Tour, with five days to go in the Kickstarter campaign.

Composed by François Rousselot (Oscar-winning short film Mr. Hublot) and featuring the voice of Clarisse May (France’s The Voice television show) as Adeliane, Adeliane is based on the Shadows of Esteren character of the same name, a strong, brave young woman crushed under the weight of a tragic past and on a quest to shed light on the mysteries that haunt her nightmares. Inspired by the universes of Philip Glass, Agnes Obel and David Darling, the album is one window into a medieval world filled with dark romantiscim, where ghastly horror and awe-inspiring beauty go hand in hand. The album will be recorded by the Budapest Symphonic Orchestera under the direction of Rousselot. Adeliane will release July 2017 and marks the fourth album created for the Shadows of Esteren world.

The Adeliane Tour will make its debut in Birmingham at the UK Games Expo on June 3 and will continue at Essen Spiel October 27. The UK Games Expo concert will feature special guest Benjamin Loomes, renowned composer and creator of Syrinscape, the award-winning sound app for tabletop games, who will be filing the venue with the sounds of vicious storms, vast landscapes and other moody environments. Additional dates in France and the U.S. are in the works for 2017 and 2018.

In addition to the album and tour, the Adeliane Kickstarter also features Melwan, a 60-page sourcebook for Shadows of Esteren and Yldiane, a 16-page graphic novel.

Imagined and designed by Studio Agate from Paris, France, Shadows of Esteren features a medieval world with horrific and gothic overtones in a dark, low fantasy setting. Drawing inspiration from Celtic myths, this universe has a subtle fantastic side hidden under a bleak, realistic surface. As a role-playing game, Shadows of Esteren has received more than a dozen awards for its art, production value and cartography, earned a silver ENnie Award for Product of the Year and has thousands of devoted players worldwide.

There are five days left in the Adeliane Kickstarter. Pledge levels of €18 or higher also include a ticket to the Adeliane concert in Birmingham on June 3 at 8pm. For more information or to back the project, visit:
